Mold Problem in Poland Ohio
9/22/2018 (Permalink)
Does your Poland home or business have a mold problem?
Microscopic mold spores naturally occur almost everywhere, both outdoors and indoors. This makes it impossible to remove all mold from a home or business. Therefore, mold remediation reduces the mold spore count back to its natural or baseline level. Some restoration businesses advertise “mold removal” and even guarantee to remove all mold, which is a fallacy. Consider the following mold facts:
- Mold is present almost everywhere, indoors and outdoors.
- Mold spores are microscopic and float along in the air and may enter your home through windows, doors, or AC/heating systems or even hitch a ride indoors on your clothing or a pet.
- Mold spores thrive on moisture. Mold spores can quickly grow into colonies when exposed to water. These colonies may produce allergens and irritants.
- Before mold remediation can begin, any sources of water or moisture must be addressed. Otherwise, the mold may return.
- Mold often produces a strong, musty odor and can lead you to possible mold problem areas.
- Even higher-than-normal indoor humidity can support mold growth. Keep indoor humidity below 45 percent.
If your home or business has a mold problem, we can inspect and assess your property and use our specialized training, equipment, and expertise to remediate your mold infestation.

DIY Mold Remover

It is hard to maintain a clean bathroom but there are multiple ways to keep your bathroom clean. Shower grout is common and mixing baking soda with bleach could bring your shower back to normal. If you do not like using harsh chemicals like bleach you could consider replacing it with lemons. Another way to remove mold is by combining baking soda with liquid soap and essential oils. Just mix the two products and scrub the grout with a tooth brush. Sometimes mold inconveniently occurs and surrounds your bathtub. Soaking cotton balls with bleach and placing it along the stained/moldy area caulking overnight will remove the mold. For hard water build up you can mix lemon juice, vinegar, and dish soap to remove the grime in unwanted areas.
Types of Household Molds
8/31/2016 (Permalink)
Cladosporium is the most common type of mold we see in our households. You probably have seen it on your food such as bread. The mold is a green, black, or grey color. This type of mold is harmful with people who have allergies or asthma. It could cause allergic reactions and shortness of breath for individuals who are diagnosed with asthma. Aspergillus is a type of mold that usually occurs in moist areas in your house and grows very quickly. This mold usually appears on the walls of your basement; most people ignore it and do not take action because they are not aware of the infections it causes. Alternaria is a type of mold that does not need a lot of water to grow. This form of mold is usually found after a flood and it should be taken care of by professionals such as SERVPRO.
