When Pipe Breaks Occur

Pipes often freeze during winter months when temperatures are below 20 degrees. If water in the pipes freeze, it expands into ice putting pressure on the pipe and can cause a burst.

• Let water drip in facets
• Keep the location of pipes warm

• Keep the faucet open while warming the pipe
• Apply heat to the section of pipe, but avoid using open flame devices
